Sept. 4 (UPI) -- The Seattle Seahawks and right tackle Abe Lucas agreed to a three-year, $46 million contract extension. Lucas was entering the final year of his rookie deal.
Sources told NFL Network, ESPN and The Athletic about the agreement Thursday.
Lucas, who joined the Seahawks as a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, started 29 games through his first three seasons. The 6-foot-6, 322-pound offensive lineman received Pro Football Focus' 59th-best offensive rating among tackles who were in for at least 20% of the maximum snaps played at the position last season.
Lucas missed 10 games last season due to a knee injury. He is listed as starting alongside right guard Anthony Bradford, center Jalen Sundell, left guard Grey Zabel and left tackle Charles Cross on the Seahawks' depth chart.
The Seahawks will open the regular season against the San Francisco 49ers at 4:05 p.m. EDT Sunday in Seattle.
