As reported previously, FC Barcelona are now set to shift their focus to securing key contract renewals with the summer transfer window out of the way.
The priorities for Deco appear to be completing the extensions of Frenkie de Jong and Eric Garcia, both of whom have contracts expiring in June 2026.
Another player in the same boat as the aforementioned duo happens to be seasoned defender Andreas Christensen.
No plans to start renewal talks with Christensen as of yet
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona do not have any plans to open contract talks with Christensen at present.
The 29-year-old defender has been at the club for three years now, having arrived from Chelsea as a free agent back in 2022.

Despite having had his fair share of fitness problems, Christensen has proven himself to be a reliable member of the team – be it under former manager Xavi Hernandez or now with Hansi Flick at the helm.
The Danish international had been linked with an exit this summer, but never thought of leaving and is now expected to have an important role in the side under the German coach.
Despite that, Barcelona are yet to open talks with Christensen over a new deal, with his current one set to expire at the end of the season, and have no plans to do so at present.
It will be interesting to see whether the stance changes in the coming weeks, depending on the level of prominence the former Chelsea star enjoys in the team.
