Lakers are foaming at the mouth after Luka Doncic's latest EuroBasket masterclass

Luka Doncic did not let the fact that Slovenia already had a spot locked up in the Round of 16 stop him from putting on his best performance at EuroBasket 2025 against Israel. In his team's last game of the Group Phase, Doncic made an emphatic statement ahead of the knockout rounds.

Luka approved. 👍

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar delivered 37 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, three steals, and one block in a 106-96 win over Israel. Doncic shot 12-of-21 from the field, his best percentage of the Group Phase, and 4-of-11 from beyond the arc.

Slovenia's undeniable superstar even connected on all of his free throws in the contest, hitting 9-of-9 from the charity stripe. The only real blemish on this masterclass was the seven turnovers Doncic surrendered.

Some may be tired of the conversation around how much better the generational talent has looked since his body transformation. However, the more games have been played since that pivotal point of the offseason change, the more evidence there is for why Doncic will elevate the Lakers in 2025-26.

Luka Doncic's ability to be a one-man army has never been more clear

Doncic has been extraordinary for Slovenia. The Lakers superstar point guard is the only NBA player on their national team, and the burden that comes with that has been carried comfortably by one of the best players on the planet.

Doncic has averaged 32.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 8.4 assists, 3.2 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game through Slovenia's first five games. The team captain has displayed notable signs of leadership that have elevated those around him far beyond their station.

Whether it's going 100 percent at practice on the day after a game, or reestablishing his team's momentum as soon as he steps back on the court, Doncic has done it all. Israel thought they had a chance when they trimmed the lead Slovenia had in the fourth quarter. Luka quickly dashed those hopes.

Asides LeBron, Luka might be the best at doing the most with little help.

The part of this that may be the most impressive is the all-around play of Doncic. The commitment to the defensive end has been easy to recognize, and it should give the Lakers plenty of confidence in the fact that what many consider Luka's Achilles heel is quickly being minimized.

This version of Doncic should be terrifying to all the NBA coaches and scouts watching what they have to go up against in 2025-26. The Lakers are ready to reap their rewards.
