“Its Rigged For The Packers” Lions Fans Point Out Massive Disadvantage Prior To Week 1 Matchup

The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions are set to square off in their week one matchup at Lambeau Field. The contest will feature the two teams who many predict will battle it out for the NFC North crown. However, Lions fans are already chirping about something they deem completely unfair.

Though the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers don’t play until Sunday afternoon, some football fans are already convinced that the game is rigged:

It wouldn’t be football season without fans complaining about the NFL referees before the action starts. Sure enough, folks already think the refs have decided to rig the highly anticipated Week 1 showdown between Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions and Jordan Love’s Green Bay Packers.

Some angry Kansas City Chiefs fans already think that Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers can be marked down as a loss, all because Carl Cheffers was named the head referee.

Per Football Zebras, veteran official Clete Blakeman was assigned as the head official for this Sunday’s Lions-Packers showdown at Lambeau Field. And already, Detroit fans think their team is screwed.

“Why does the @NFL hate detroit ?” a Detroit Lions fan asked.

“No wonder the Hardrock app got Packers the Favorite. MAKES SINCE NOWWWW..,” wrote a fan.

“Why do you always do this to us lions fan?” asked another.

“Welp congrats GB on the free win,” said a user.

“when the lions get a pick six off the packers but it gets called back because clete blakeman has money on the packers,” another posted with a hilarious TikTok video.

“Why on earth is Clete blakeman allowed to ref a lions packer game after the blatant rigging hes pulled in the game in the past. Do better @NFL,” wrote another.

One thing the Lions can do to enhance their chances of winning? Follow the warning from NFL referees about them being more strict on “unsportsmanlike” gestures this year.

The Lions and Packers have both finished with double-digit wins in consecutive seasons, but the modern rivalry hasn’t hit its peak yet. That’s because the Lions have owned the Packers under Dan Campbell, going 5-1 against Matt LaFleur’s group since 2022.

But the Packers’ blockbuster trade for Micah Parsons closes the gap with the Lions and makes the battle for the NFC North much closer. The Packers have been knocking on the door these last two years, but Parsons’ arrival makes them that much closer to re-emerging as the kings of the division.
