Mohamed Salah has sent a heartfelt tribute to Harvey Elliott after he completed his loan move to Aston Villa from Liverpool.
This has been the biggest transfer window in Liverpool's history, with the club spending around £446.5m on signing new players and recouping £228.1m through player sales.
The likes of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Doak, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Jarell Quansah have all left the club, and Elliott joined them too after Liverpool agreed to sell him to Villa on loan with the obligation to buy next summer for £35m.
The 22-year-old made 148 appearances for the Reds since moving from Fulham in 2019, but a move away from Anfield was necessary for his career growth.
Salah shows class by sending brilliant message to Elliott
You’ll be remembered for your loyalty and dedication every time you were called upon. You leave as a champion, and I’ve got no doubt you’ll do big things at your new club. They are lucky to have you. pic.twitter.com/8G8pWVVdtM

The duo shared brilliant bonding on and off the pitch, and naturally, the Egyptian was sad to see Elliott depart.
At the same time, he has let him know that he leaves the club as a champion, and that he would do big things at his new club.

The Reds winger also reminded the fans that while it is good to celebrate the new signings, one must now forget the contributions of the players who left the club this summer.
Tough luck for Elliott

The dazzling winger failed to cement his place in Arne Slot's side, and it became inevitable that he would depart at some point in the summer.
Blessed with great technical abilities and an eye for goal, Elliott could be a brilliant signing for Villa. However, he probably lacked the intensity of constantly tracking back that Slot was looking for in his wingers, which resulted in limited opportunities last season.
After signing players like Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak, and with Salah and Cody Gakpo already in the side, plus the emergence of Rio Ngumoha, Elliott would have drifted out of the picture anyway if he had stayed on.
Many had expected him and Doak to play for the Reds for years to come, but that did not happen as the Reds moved in a different direction.
