Week 1 kicks off on Thursday when the Philadelphia Eagles host their bitter rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, in front of their rockus home crowd. The Eagles will unveil their banner to their home fans after capturing their second Super Bowl in February, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs for the Lombardi trophy, 40-22.

While everyone in Philadelphia loves their Eagles, the same cannot be said for Philadelphia 76ers All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey.

Maxey shared this message for Philadelphia fans ahead of Thursday's game, taking a shot at Eagle fans.

"PHILLY FAM.... Yall know I love you guys DEARLY and I'm soooo happy the city got a ring! BUT TODAY....... WE BEEFING GO COWBOYS 😂😂😂😂," wrote Maxey.

To no one's surprise, Philadelphia fans immediately started going after the 76ers' All-Star, who later revealed he is from Dallas, Texas.

"Serious question ... I'm literally from Dallas Texas... How could yall even trust me if I became a full on eagles fan over the cowboys tho? 😂 I root for the eagles every week except 2 weeks out of the season!"

Maxey will soon enter his sixth season in the league, and all have been with the 76ers. He was drafted by the 76ers with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Before that, he was a standout in the Dallas area, being a five-star recruit as early as his sophomore year in high school. By the end of his senior year, he was ranked the 10th overall player in his class and received offers from some of the top schools in the country, including UCLA, Michigan State and SMU.

Ultimately, he committed to the University of Kentucky and went on to be a standout player under head coach John Calipari.

Maxey is coming off a solid season, individually speaking, in what was a very disappointing season by the 76ers. In 52 games, the one-time All-Star averaged 26.3 points per game, 3.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.8 steals while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from three in 37.7 minutes of action.

All eyes will be on the 76ers this season as they look for a bounce back and, more importantly, a season year after year across the board.

Maxey will look to carry the load in the backcourt while Paul George and Joel Embiid look to do so in the frontcourt.

As for the Eagles-Cowboys matchup, kickoff is at 8:20 ET.
