“The Patriots Aren’t Allowed” Bill Belichick Sticks Knife In The Back Of New England (Report)

Bill Belichick is heading back to the drawing board after his brutal 48-14 week one loss against TCU. The North Carolina Tar Heels had much higher expectations with a seven time Super Bowl champion at the helm.

While many expect UNC to turn it around, the New England Patriots won’t be allowed to scout.

Recent reports suggest that Belichick pulled a petty move against his former NFL team:

According to sports media personality John Middlekauff, who hosts the “3 and Out” podcast for Colin Cowherd’s The Volume sports network, Belichick has “banned” Patriots scouts from attending North Carolina practices.

“I was told by multiple people that he has banned the New England Patriots. New England Patriots, if you are a scout for the Patriots, you are not allowed at the University of North Carolina,” Middlekauff said.

“My guess is, Bill Belichick made over $200 million working for Robert Kraft…and then it got ugly. And he lost. And he got fired. You know what that’s called? Football.”

While Belichick, who coached in New England from 2000 to 2023, is clearly still bothered by how his tenure with the franchise ended, the Patriots – specifically owner Robert Kraft – are taking the high road.

Kraft announced this week that he wants to build a statue for Belichick. It will be placed right next to Tom Brady’s massive statue.

“When Bill’s coaching by career ends, we look forward to sitting down with him and having a statue made to be right next to Tommy,” he told WBZ Sports this week.

The statue will be placed outside of Gillette Stadium.

Would Belichick consider attending a statue ceremony right now? It sounds like he probably would not.

North Carolina, meanwhile, is set to take on Charlotte in Week 2.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. E.T. on ESPN2.
