Cameroon made sure to bag maximum points in their latest CAF FIFA World Cup qualifier in Group D on Thursday night as the Indomitable Lions secured a 3-0 victory against Eswatini at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Thursday night.

In what was a disastrous start to the game by Eswatini, Sihlangu Semnikati conceded an own goal in the sixth minute. With Bryan Mbeumo crossing the ball into the area, Innocent Dlamini guided the ball into his own net with a miscued header.

Cameroon dominated the match midway through the first-half and actively searched to score their second-goal by stroking the ball around on the edge of the Eswatini box.

The Indomitable Lions bagged a second goal in the 26th minute, with Mbeumo’s delivery into the area proving to be a major issue inside the 18-yard-area. Lurking inside the box, Georges-Kévin N’Koudou did well to direct the ball toward goal.

Cameroon scored their third goal shortly before the half-hour mark, after Arthur Avom capped off a clever header across the six-yard area with a venomous shot toward the goalkeeper.

The hosts remained firmly in the driver’s seat at the break, while Eswatini had nothing to show for their efforts on the ball.

It was more of the same for Cameroon at the restart, while Eswatini often struggled to get the ball up field. Despite being three goals up, Cameroon were eager to get their fourth leading up to the hour-mark.

Eswatini’s activity on the ball increased with around 15 minutes to go, largely due to Cameroon kicking into game-management mode given their three-goal advantage.

Nevertheless, Cameroon’s professional performance in the second 45 proved to be enough to earn maximum points on home soil.
