BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) -- It’s been over 200 days since the NFL played a game that mattered, and with the 2025 season kicking off tonight between the champion Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys, fans are excited for another season of fun.
Fans shared with 12 News their predictions on everything from Super Bowl matchups to MVPs to exciting rookies to look out for.
“MVP? Give me Lamar Jackson,” said Joe Lacorte, a student at Binghamton University. “Super Bowl match-up? I hate them, but it’s going to be the Eagles. Give me Bengals-Eagles Super Bowl.”
“I think Josh Allen is going to have a very good season, MVP coming off of last year,” said Alex Allel, another student. “I think he’s going to do very well. I think Lamar is going to follow up”
As for rookie quarterbacks, the two are riding with the Giants QB, Jaxson Dart.
“Some rookies to look out for? Jaxson Dart, don’t sleep on him,” said Allel.
“I’m not a Shedeur Sanders fan or even Cam Ward, I don’t think he’s got the weapons yet,” Lacorte told 12 News.
It’s not just fans gearing up for football; some local bars have been preparing all off-season - maybe even harder than the players. The factory by Beer Tree Brew hosts watch parties for the Bills every game day. Melissa Powell, Director of Operations for Beer Tree, says there is nothing like it.
“There’s nothing like being here on game day. The sense of community, the regulars that come out for every game, they want their specific seats just because we’re a little bit superstitious. They have their same jersey on. There’s nothing like it.”
A proud Buffalo Bills fan herself, she made a bold prediction on their success this season.
“I think we’re going to go to the Super Bowl. I think he’s happily married, and he’s excited. He’s going to ride that high,” said Powell. “We had a great season last year and I think we’re going to make it to the Super Bowl this year.”
Whether you’re a member of Bills Mafia or not, there is definitely a little something for everyone to look forward to this NFL season.
