Crystal Palace sign Manchester City goalkeeper Annets on loan

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper Eve Annets on a season-long loan deal.

The Eagles announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 19-year-old stopper joined Manchester City from former second tier side Reading last summer following their decision to withdraw from the professional game. Annets came through The Royals’ well-respected academy system before being handed minutes for the first team.

Annets is yet to make her debut for Manchester City. She spent time out on loan at Barclays WSL2 club Portsmouth last season in a bid to further her development. The keeper played her part in Pompey stabilising themselves in the professional game following their promotion from the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.

On the international stage, Annets has represented England at Under-19 level.

After joining Crystal Palace on loan, Annets said “Absolutely stoked to be here. There is a really good set-up here and I want to be part of it. I am really, really excited.”

Annets is Crystal Palace’s second Transfer Deadline Day signing. The player could be involved when The Eagles travel to Charlton Athletic on Sunday.
