After a 206 day void since the end of the Super Bowl, the NFL regular season is officially back. Thursday night, New York Giants fans will be able to get an up close look at two division rivals as the Dallas Cowboys take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football.
For the Cowboys, it has been an eventful offseason to say the least. This will be the regular season debut for new head coach Brian Schottenheimer after being promoted from offensive coordinator. This will also be the first time everyone will get to see how the Cowboys defense performs without Micah Parsons after very public contract extension breakdowns led to his trade to the Green Bay Packers. If the Cowboys want to quiet the outside noise, there is no better opponent to make their statement against.
For the Eagles, it’s straight back to business coming off a Super Bowl win. Head coach Nick Sirianni has no focus on what he accomplished last season, with the coach being surprised that the team planned on raising their banner tonight. For the Eagles, the game plan remains the same. To get the ball to the player that finished number one in the NFL Top 100, running back Saquon Barkley. There is no love loss between these two teams and the Eagles will look to make a statement against their division rivals in front of their home crowd.
