“I’ve Never Seen This” Packers’ Micah Parsons Throws Dallas Cowboys Directly Under The Bus

The Green Bay Packers start their season against the Detroit Lions in just a few short days. Acquiring Micah Parsons one week before the season kicked off was a shocker and a franchise changing move. Parsons has been happy just to get back to football.

So much so that he has genuinely appreciated what Green Bay had to offer.

A rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers appears to be brewing:

Last week, Dallas traded Parsons to Green Bay for three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark and a pair of first-round picks. The Packers immediately their new All-Pro pass rusher with a four-year, $188 million deal that includes $136 million guaranteed. That might seem like a hefty deal, but the Penn State product earned it by racking up 256 tackles, 52.5 sacks and nine forced fumbles in just four seasons.

Even though Parsons has only been with the Packers for a week, he has already noticed a big difference between them and the Cowboys. He pointed out that nearly every player was in the locker room on Tuesday for treatment. Apparently, that wasn’t common in Dallas.

“I’ve never been in a locker room with guys like this. I came in Tuesday for treatment and I saw almost every guy in the locker room,” Parsons said, via Packers beat writer Matt Schneidman. “I said this is the first time I ever seen this and that just shows how much these guys wanna be here. They say it’s ’cause there ain’t nothing else to do, but there’s other things you could do … I think that’s important and when you’re around guys like that, it makes it exciting to come to work.”

There’s no question Parsons threw shade at the Cowboys with those comments.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Packers are expected to play Parsons in some capacity during their season opener against the Detroit Lions.

“Based on everything I’ve been told this week, I would be shocked if Parsons doesn’t play in some fashion for the Packers against the Lions on Sunday,” Graziano wrote. “It’s too soon for Parsons to know the entire defense, and he probably isn’t in football shape yet since he didn’t practice in training camp. But the Packers should be able to draw up a play package that maximizes Parsons’ impact as an edge rusher in key situations, then continue ramping him up during the early weeks of the season.”

The Packers traded for Parsons because they believe they’re on the cusp of being a Super Bowl contender. While they’d love to have him on the field for Week 1, what truly matters is that he’s ready to make a serious impact for the long haul.

We also can’t forget that Parsons has a revenge game against the Cowboys coming up in Week 4. He’ll do everything in his power to make sure he’s ready for that showdown.
