Will Jalen Carter Be Suspended For Bucs Game?

Eagles spitting DT Jalen Carter.

If it was bad enough to get run before kickoff, maybe it will be bad enough to get suspended for the first month of the season?

That’s what Joe is hoping for with habitual moron Jalen Carter, the otherwise uber-talented defensive tackle for the Super Bowl champion Eagles.

The NFL, as Conor Orr of SI.com [points out](https://www.si.com/nfl/ejecting-jalen-carter-nfl-plan-to-clean-up-filthy-game), is trying to clean up its image. Both the NFL and the zebras have made it clear this year there will be a special focus on sportsmanship.

Translation: More flags for cursing and calling opponents’ mothers, wives and girlfriends unpublishable names.

Why is this happening? Orr notes that the NFL has some major business deals brewing, specifically more international games, potential expansion both domestic and abroad, and more TV contracts.

Television networks, especially foreign television entities, are not overly kosher about throwing billions of dollars at something suits view as unseemly or distasteful.

The NFL is trying to conquer the world and it’s easier to do that with honey as opposed to spit.

And spit is just what that lunkhead Carter did. Before last night’s season-opener even began, Carter spat on the former Walter Payton Man of the Year Award winner and quarterback of America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott.

Carter was run from the game. Before the game started.

Given Carter’s history, he’s prone to pull stupid stunts. This is just the latest. There is a reason he slipped all the way to No. 9 despite being widely regarded as the best defensive player in the 2023 draft.

If a player is going to get tossed from a game, a nationally televised game, a player from the reigning Super Bowl champion, for committing an offense against the quarterback of America’s Team, surely he may get suspended, right? Especially for what he did.

Would NFL warden Roger Goodell have the stones to make an example out of Carter and suspend him for the next three games, thereby being unavailable when the Eagles visit The Licht House in Week 4 to square off against the Bucs?

Joe can only hope.
