The Dallas Cowboys scored on their opening drive of the game, but it was after a downright shocking incident.
You honestly could not script a better start for the Dallas Cowboys, as the Philadelphia Eagles are now going to be without their best defensive player in Jalen Carter. The Cowboys will absolutely have a tough time the entire game, as Philly is a juggernaut, but they did get a huge break before the first play even occured.
And you'll have to see this to truly believe it...
Jalen Carter just got himself ejected from the game, before the first play
Jalen Carter was called for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and tossed from the game before the first play even happened after he spit on Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott:

Yes, Jalen Carter spit on Dak Prescott, who is making his much-anticipated return from a 2024 hamstring injury. Carter's spit was enough to get him ejected from the game, and all Dallas did after that was drive down the field on some efficient runs from Javonte Williams and a deep pass to CeeDee Lamb.
Williams rushed in the first touchdown of the 2025 NFL Season from a few yards out, giving the Cowboys a 7-0 lead. It's been quite the sloppy start for the Eagles, but I guess this could be expected to an extent. Philly has the Super Bowl high going for them and revealed their championship banner, so a trap game could be likely.
Jalen Carter getting ejected was simply inexcusable but could be indicative of what the Eagles think of the Cowboys. As an NFL athlete, he simply has to be better than that, and Dak Prescott took the high ground by not doing anything in retaliation and just letting the officials handle it.
It took zero snaps for Dak Prescott to make his presence known.
