Chelsea have only played three matches in the Premier League so far, winning two of them.
Enzo Maresca‘s men beat Fulham 2-0 last time out, which followed their 5-1 hammering of West Ham United. Before that, they drew with Crystal Palace at home.
It is not a large sample size, but there are still plenty of things that Chelsea supporters would have learnt about their team from those first three Premier League games of the season.
The Chelsea Chronicle has taken a look at three of them…

Joao Pedro is as clutch as Cole Palmer
There is not a better place to start than with Joao Pedro, whom everyone is talking about right now.
The Brazilian has made a huge impact at Chelsea since arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring goals left, right and centre. They have been important goals, too.
It was Pedro who equalised against West Ham at the London Stadium after Chelsea found themselves 1-0 down before scoring the opener in their 2-0 victory over Fulham.

The above comes after his three goals at the Club World Cup, which came in the semi-final and final. As far as being clutch goes, Pedro is up there with Cole Palmer right now.

Estevao Willian has to stay in the team
Estevao Willian has not made the same kind of impact that Pedro has just yet, but he has still been excellent in Chelsea’s first few games of the new campaign.
The 18-year-old can make things happen, showing that with his assist against West Ham and his dismantling of Calvin Bassey down the right flank last Saturday.
You need that kind of attacker in your team, especially when coming up against low blocks, which Chelsea often face.
Gary Lineker has described Estevao as “special”, and he is certainly not wrong.

Malo Gusto is getting back to his best again
Malo Gusto did not have the greatest 2024/25 season, disappointing after a very promising 2023/24 campaign.
However, the defender rediscovered his form at the Club World Cup, putting in a terrific performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
He has maintained that level or been somewhere around it since the Premier League kicked off again. Ultimately, Gusto looks to be back to his best again.
The Frenchman, Estevao and Pedro have all made good impressions this season so far.
