Dak Prescott shares his side of Jalen Carter spitting incident

Dak Prescott played some role in the spitting incident with Jalen Carter on Thursday night — beyond just being spit on. Prescott apparently thinks Carter misunderstood him, leading to the spit.

Carter was [ejected six seconds into Thursday night’s opener](https://larrybrownsports.com/football/jalen-carter-ejected-spitting-dak-prescott/715448) between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. Carter was caught spitting on Prescott before the Cowboys’ offense took their first snap of the game.

NBC later showed footage of the matter, which showed Prescott had gone towards Carter ahead of time. After the game, former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, who is now an analyst for NBC, shared what Prescott told him about the incident.

“Dak said he was talking to his linemen, he was talking to Tyler Booker, and he had to spit. So he spit over Booker’s shoulder. And I guess Jalen Carter was looking at him, and came over and said, ‘are you spitting at me?’ And Dak said, ‘why would I spit at you?’ And he got closer, and he spit back at him,” Garrett reported.

So a misunderstanding was at the root of the problem, according to Prescott. And really, it just seems like Carter was looking for trouble.

There were plenty of memes and jokes at Carter’s expense, with many people [saying the exact same thing](https://larrybrownsports.com/football/same-joke-jalen-carter-ejection-hawk-tuah/715485).

Despite losing Carter to the ejection, the Eagles won the game 24-20.
