Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers has named one of Manchester City’s bargains of the century as a player on par with Wayne Rooney.

The Citizens have had plenty of star-studded squads in recent years, boasting the kinds of players that were the envy of the footballing world.

One of Manchester City’s modern-day stars cost the club just £24million, but he has written his name in City and Premier League history.

Now, Morgan Rogers has named said player as one of the Premier League’s best ever in his position.

Morgan Rogers picks David Silva in his ‘Mount Rushmore’ of attacking midfielders

And Rogers picked Silva when asked by talkSPORT which four attacking midfielders he would name in his ‘Mount Rushmore’.

“In my time, I’ll go David Silva,” said the former Man City academy star. “Just the way he moved with the ball, how elegant he was.”

Rogers then picked Arsenal cult hero Mesut Ozil, Chelsea icon Eden Hazard, and Man United’s Rooney.

The Villa ace admitted he may have been “cheating a bit” as Rooney was best known as a striker, but he did play as an attacking midfielder later on in his career.

What the likes of Paul Scholes and Patrick Vieira have said about David Silva

Silva can make a strong case for being one of the best players of the 21st century.

The Spaniard has won a multitude of trophies for club and country, including the World Cup, two Euros, and four Premier Leagues.

Silva, who cost City just £24million from Valencia in 2010, has had plenty of recognition from his peers.

For instance, Paul Scholes recently named David Silva as Man City’s greatest ever player. Kevin De Bruyne also labeled Silva as Man City’s biggest star.

Meanwhile, Patrick Vieira deemed Silva ‘the Dennis Bergkamp of City’, and Darren Bent said Silva was a much better player than David Beckham.
