Jadon Sancho hasn’t made his debut for Aston Villa yet, but Gabby Agbonlahor has already warned him about what will happen if he copies Marcus Rashford.
Sancho joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan from Manchester United at the end of the summer transfer window, following in the footsteps of his former Red Devils teammate.
TBR Football revealed that Rashford helped convince Sancho to join the West Midlands outfit after enjoying his loan spell at Villa Park last season.
However, that is the only aspect of the move where Agbonlahor wants Sancho to imitate Rashford, who joined Barcelona in the summer.

Gabby Agbonlahor tells Jadon Sancho it’s ‘make or break’
Sancho has struggled to find the same form he had at Borussia Dortmund ever since leaving the club, as he didn’t do enough at Chelsea last season to get the footballing world talking about him again.
Sancho has been compared to Rashford due to their poor form of late, and Agbonlahor told talkSPORT that if he keeps that up, Sancho won’t play for Unai Emery’s side.

“His stats are obviously getting worse and worse.
“For me, his contract is up at the end of the season. I think Manchester United might have the option of an extension of one year. It’s make-or-break.
“If he doesn’t put in a top season for Aston Villa and do really well, your £350,000-a-week will go down to £50,000-a-week at your new club.
“The problem is, Rashford’s similar, one game is unbelievable, and you’re like, ‘Oh yes,’ next week, ‘Oh, you’re not running around, you don’t fancy it today?’
“That’s been the problem with Sancho, and if he does that at Aston Villa, he won’t play.”
Jadon Sancho will need to do more than Marcus Rashford did at Aston Villa
Rashford’s loan move to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 season was supposed to rejuvenate his career, but while he showed glimpses of his former self, it never truly happened for him.
His performances at Villa Park weren’t enough to inspire Ruben Amorim to give him a second chance, so he was moved away from Old Trafford this summer.

If Sancho wants to break back into the Manchester United squad or even earn a permanent deal at Aston Villa, he will need to do a lot more.
That means he will need to improve on the five goals and 10 assists he managed in 41 appearances for the Blues last season.
