Man Utd star emerges as'target'for two clubs in late transfer swoop, what key player has now'told the teams'

Manchester United and England defender Harry Maguire has become subject to transfer interest from two clubs amid the 2025-26 Premier League campaign, according to reports.

Harry Maguire has seen a resurgence in form at Old Trafford after the England international was stripped of the Manchester United captaincy under Erik ten Hag.

The 32-year-old English defender, who has been linked with West Ham in the past, established himself as a key United first-team player under Ruben Amorim as well.

Maguire has shown his adaptability after Erik ten Hag was sacked as United manager and the England defender has fitted well in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system.

The ex-United captain has often been deployed as the central defender in the three-man backline under Amorim, who replaced Ten Hag as United manager in 2024.

However, the transfer window still remains open in several other countries, including for clubs in the Saudi Pro League and teams in the likes of Turkey and Greece.

The Saudi Pro League’s window closes on 23rd September and The Sun reports that Harry Maguire has become a ‘target’ for two unnamed clubs in Saudi Arabia.

The newspaper reports that the Manchester United defender’s position is clear that he ‘would consider a move’ away from Old Trafford after the end of the season.

It is believed that Maguire has also responded to the interest from the two Saudi Arabian clubs after ‘he told the teams’ that he would see out his United contract.

Man Utd’s summer transfer stance on England star Harry Maguire amid the latest interest from Saudi Arabian clubs

According to The Sun, United wanted to keep hold of Maguire for the 2025-26 season at Old Trafford and the Red Devils batted away interest from abroad.

The publication has claimed that the Red Devils ‘rejected bids’ from teams in Italy and clubs in the Premier League during the 2025 summer transfer window.

United triggered a one-year extension in Maguire’s current contract with the Premier League club back in January, which will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2026.

Maguire, who will become a free agent next summer if he does not sign a new United deal, will be free to speak with clubs outside of England in January 2026.

The former Sheffield United and Leicester City star could sign a pre-contract agreement with a team outside of England ahead of a free transfer next summer.
