Patriots starting rookie tackle latest addition to injury report

FOXBOROUGH – At this point, it doesn’t look like the Patriots will have their top cornerback when they open up the regular season against the Las Vegas Raiders.

It also appears that their offensive line might not be at full strength.

On Thursday, Christian Gonzalez didn’t participate in Patriots practice. The All-Pro cornerback hasn’t practiced with the team since suffering a hamstring injury on July 28. With one practice left on Friday, it would be a surprise if Gonzalez was ready by Sunday’s matchup inside Gillette Stadium.

The Patriots also had two new players added to the injury report – Will Campbell and Christian Barmore.

Campbell, who started the week off the injury report, was listed as limited with an ankle injury. The fourth overall pick is slated to start at left tackle against the Raiders.

The Patriots’ offensive line will be tested on Sunday against Pro Bowl pass rusher Maxx Crosby. In the event that Campbell can’t play, the next man up could be seventh-round pick Marcus Bryant or veteran tackle Vederian Lowe.

Barmore was listed as limited, but with a “not injury-related” designation. The Patriots have limited some of Barmore’s reps this offseason after he missed most of last year due to blood clots.

Here’s the Patriots’ Thursday injury report:

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

CB Christian Gonzalez, Hamstring

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

DT Christian Barmore, Not Injury Related

T Will Campbell, Ankle

FULL PARTICIPATION

WR Efton Chism III, Knee

CB Charles Woods, Concussion/Groin
