Everton have turned over a new leaf under David Moyes, meaning long-anticipated records can be broken, specifically Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s.
The international break seems to have come at the wrong time for the Toffees, after a strong start to the Premier League season.
Everton selling the women’s team has helped structure the campaign moving forward, and The Friedkin Group can be happy with the work they have done.
But it’s still early days, and there shouldn’t be a need to get carried away, despite Everton sitting fifth.
It’s all positive in Merseyside at the moment, and things could heighten if Calvert-Lewin’s reign finally ends.

Jack Grealish can end five-year drought with player of the month award at Everton
After a strong performance in August, it was new loan signing Jack Grealish who took the headlines.
Following his success, the winger got nominated for the Premier League player of the month, with rival fans saying Grealish deserves the award.

However, there is even greater importance to winning this for Everton, as the last time the award was given to a Toffees star was during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Calvert-Lewin was the last to win the player of the month for Everton, with the striker winning in September 2020 for his five goals, as Grealish looks to do the same after his four assists.
It looks like the on-loan Man City star is one of the favourites, and the 29-year-old can go one step further if he claims this triumph.
Jack Grealish could become the first-ever Everton player to win two player of the month awards in a season
The history of this award is minimal from Everton’s perspective, as only eight other players, alongside Calvert-Lewin, have had the pleasure during the Premier League era.
February 1995 Duncan Ferguson
April 1996 Andrei Kanchelskis
April 1999 Kevin Campbell
September 2006 Andy Johnson
February 2009 Phil Jagielka
April 2012 Nikica Jelavic
November 2012 Marouane Fellaini
March 2017 Romelu Lukaku
Eight other player of the month winners for Everton in Premier League era, alongside Calvert-Lewin
But no player has won the award twice, not even Lukaku during his tenure, despite his impeccable goalscoring.
Grealish deserves the award for the first month of the season, as no player has contributed more to goals and assists so far this campaign, and if he does, he has every chance to become the first-ever Toffees player to repeat the achievement again.

It’s a great start for the winger, and there should be only one name on that trophy for August.
