Turkish giants Besiktas push hard for Arsenal Winger
Arsenal were busy rebuilding their squad in the summer, splashing over £250m on fresh talent. While they nailed the arrivals, moving players on permanently was less smooth.
As per Sozcu, comes fresh interest from Turkey, with Besiktas making a bold £19m offer for Leandro Trossard. The Belgian was signed from Brighton for £27m in 2023. He is well-known for his ability to change games. Although, he has been benched twice in the opening three league fixtures this season.
Besiktas see him as the perfect upgrade to inject class and experience into their attack. Transfer talks are expected to carry on in the coming days.
Gunners unlikely to cash in
For Arsenal, the timing of this offer complicates things. Trossard may not always start, but he has had no shortage of influence. He also scored 28 goals and had added 21 assists in just 125 games. This shows just how dependable this player is.
Head coach Mikel Arteta has called him a “little magician” and Arsenal rewarded him for this as he was given a pay rise earlier this summer. His deal still runs until 2027, underlining how much Arsenal value him.
While £19m is a tempting figure, especially for a player in his 30s. But, the Gunners are not in a position where they need to sell. The club has set their ambitions high for this season. So, letting go of one of their most impactful game-changers midway through a season seems unlikely.

This feels like an ambitious play from Besiktas, but Arsenal won’t bite right now. Trossard still has too much to offer, and if he leaves, it will be on Arsenal’s terms, not anyone else’s.
