Christian Eriksen, who is still without a club since leaving Manchester United, has found himself in Thomas Gravesen’s firing line, for choosing to train with Malmö.
[Fotboll Skanalen](https://www.fotbollskanalen.se/allsvenskan/gravesen-kritiserar-eriksen-efter-mff-traningen-oseriost/) cover comments from the former Everton and Real Madrid midfielder today in which he criticises Eriksen for showing a lack of ambition.
The Danish midfielder has been club-less since leaving Manchester United on a free transfer in the summer.
It was made clear some time ago that he would like to move on to somewhere new after two separate spells in the Premier League with Tottenham and Manchester United, as well as a short spell at Brentford.
He’s been looking for clubs in Europe for months but is yet to settle on a final destination, with a return to former club Ajax also seemingly ruled out as well.
Several reports have made it clear that, while the hunt for a new club continues, Eriksen has been training to maintain his fitness and ensure he is ready to go.
Reports this week revealed he’s training with Malmö, where he was spotted at their training ground this week. The former Manchester United man insisted when asked that he was only training with them and nothing more.
Gravesen isn’t impressed by that, though, believing that even just training with the Swedish side shows a lack of ambition from Eriksen.
_“It is incomprehensible to me that he chooses Malmö. It is not a club that he can go to because he cannot sign a contract with them and we have some clubs in Denmark that are much, much better than Malmö,”_ he said.
_“This looks like a friendly thing, where Christian Eriksen is over and having fun with some friends. Where is the ambition to play football?_
_“We talk about him being without a club for three months, but he has been without a club since January because he has been able to sign a contract with a new club ever since. He has been dragging his feet on it for a long time. If he wants to play for the national team, what signal does this send?_
_“What signal does going up and having fun with friends in Malmö send? I don’t understand it! It seems frivolous in some way. If he had ambitions, he would have gone to a higher-level club. For me, it is not ambitious enough to go to Malmö and have fun. Who sees him there?”_
