Marcus Rashford is being linked with a return to Manchester United just weeks after completing a loan move to Barcelona.
Rashford left United in the summer transfer window to join the La Liga giants on a loan deal until the end of the season. The move came after Rashford had expressed a desire to leave United and after spending the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.
Since moving to Spain, Rashford has made three appearances in La Liga for Barcelona but has been handed just one start by manager Hansi Flick. The on-loan United star enjoyed an impressive pre-season, but there are now rumours that an early return may be on the cards.
Spanish news outlet El Nacional has reported that Barcelona are considering ending Rashford's loan spell when the January transfer window opens.
If this was to happen, Barcelona would apparently be forced to pay a €5million (£4.3million) penalty fee.
It has been claimed that Barcelona are becoming concerned about Rashford's form since arriving at the club on loan.
The report states that a decision will be made over the next few months over whether to send Rashford back to United in the New Year or continue with the full length of the loan deal.
United are estimated to save around £12million from Rashford's wages thanks to the loan deal with Barcelona. This would change, though, if the forward was to return to Old Trafford in January and see his loan spell come to an early end.
