The transfer window may have just slammed shut, but Liverpool are already looking ahead as the Premier League champions look to build a squad capable of winning top trophies for years to come.
Last season, the Reds had to seriously contemplate a future without Mohamed Salah due to his ongoing contract saga. Despite him now being secured until 2027, the Anfield outfit recognise the need for a successor for the 33-year-old.
The conclusion of the Egyptian ace's contract provides a timeline for Arne Slot and his team to work towards, with a transfer potentially needed next summer or the one after. After a bustling summer window, Liverpool's Dutch manager has an abundance of attacking talent at his disposal, with Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz all joining in high-profile deals.
Rio Ngumoha also appears poised for a breakout season after being selected for Liverpool's Champions League squad over Federico Chiesa and netting against Newcastle. However, the young star will only just be turning 19 in two years' time.
Liverpool are already scouting potential targets, and according to Mail Online, one player could have already topped their shortlist. Early indications suggest that Bayern Munich's Michael Olise is a strong contender, reports the Mirror.

Olise had a standout debut season at Bayern Munich, earning the title of Bundesliga's rookie of the year. The French international played a key role in helping his team recapture the German title, contributing 20 goals and 23 assists across all competitions in his first season.
The 23 year old made the switch from Crystal Palace to the European heavyweights in a £50million deal. The top brass at Bayern Munich may already feel their belief that they've bagged a £100m player for half the price has been justified.
Bayern managed to outdo several elite clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle, to secure Olise's signature. Olise is tied down to the Allianz Arena until 2029.
It's already evident that any deal for Olise won't come cheap, with potential sellers given a benchmark by Liverpool's recent record-breaking British deals for Wirtz and Isak. However, another deal could yet influence any negotiations between the clubs.
Bayern Munich have added their name to the growing list of European clubs keen on signing Marc Guehi. The Crystal Palace defender was left fuming when his £35m move to Liverpool fell through after the Eagles pulled out at the last minute on deadline day.

Liverpool are expected to make another attempt to sign him but will face stiff competition, as European clubs can start discussing contract terms in January when Guehi enters the final six months of his contract at Selhurst Park. Inter Milan and Juventus are also eyeing the England international, who will be able to negotiate a more lucrative contract as a free agent.
