Largie Ramazani responds to Leeds United transfer decision after announcement made

Largie Ramazani has explained his decision to join Valencia following his loan exit from Leeds United..

The 24-year-old has joined the La Liga club on loan for the 2025/26 season, but the club did not include an option to buy him as part of the deal. The hope is that he is a success at Valencia and will arrive back a better player and can be reintergrated into Daniel Farke’s squad.

The reason the loan was sanctioned was due to a concern over the lack of game time that the winger would get in the Premier League this season. Ramazani failed to start a Championship game for Leeds since the start of last year, often coming on as a late substitute.

Having Jack Harrison returning from a loan spell with Everton and the signing of Noah Okafor, the player would only be pushed further down the pecking order at Elland Road.

The winger made his debut for Valencia as a late substitute last weekend. Despite only playing the final three minutes of the game, he still had time to provide an assist in the 3-0 win over Getafe.

The player himself has now outlined why he made the move to the club. Speaking to Spanish media outlet El Desmarque, the winger said: “I have played against Valencia CF many times, the club convinced me."

“(I felt) the love of the club. Coming here can help me a lot. I really like Spanish football. I've played and enjoyed it a lot here.

“The coach always pushes me to work hard. I want to give my best. Give the best version of myself, enjoy my football and help the team.”

Speaking earlier this week following the closure of the summer transfer window, Leeds managing director Robbie Evans explained why the club sanctioned a loan move for the winger.

“Largie and Mateo (Joseph), are both wildly talented players who need the minutes, and Largie also has no buy option, because we insisted we have the option to bring him back to the club,” he said. “So again, Largie was not getting the minutes he needed last season.

“This year, we've added Jack [Harrison] and Noah Okafor so for him to get the minutes he needs, he's better off playing in Spain. He's being coached by someone that we know and trust, and we hope that's good for him, and that his future is open here, if that's the right thing for him and for the club."
