Manchester United will reportedly revisit Conor Gallagher's situation at Atletico Madrid in January, with the Red Devils keeping a close eye on the Englishman.
Ruben Amorim's side are said to have made contact with Atletico on transfer deadline day to express their interest in Gallagher, with the English giants keen to discuss a loan move.
However, the Madrid giants are believed to have made it clear that the midfielder was not available on a short-term basis, with only a permanent exit possible.
According to Fichajes, Man United remain attentive to Gallagher's situation at Wanda Metropolitano, and the 20-time English champions could make an offer for his services during the January transfer window.
The report claims that Amorim's team would be open to a loan deal with the option to buy, while a permanent transfer in the winter has not been ruled out by the Premier League club, depending on the circumstances.

Man United 'could return' for Gallagher in January
Gallagher is believed to be interested in returning to the Premier League, while Man United feel that he has the profile to 'fit perfectly' into Amorim's 3-4-3 system at Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old came through the youth system at Chelsea, and he represented the Blues on 95 occasions, scoring 10 goals and registering 10 assists in the process.
The midfielder also had spells on loan at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace during his time at Stamford Bridge before leaving Chelsea permanently for Atletico in 2024.
Gallagher is a 21-time England international, meanwhile, and he was a member of his national team's squad at both the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024, but he has been left out by new Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel.

The midfielder has represented Atletico on 53 occasions, scoring four goals and registering six assists.
Gallagher was named in the starting XI for Atletico's opening match of the 2025-26 La Liga campaign against Espanyol, but he was substituted at the interval of his side's 2-1 defeat.
The Englishman has since featured off the bench against Elche and Alaves, and he is thought to be unsettled at Atletico, but his contract has another four years left to run.
