Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yasin Ayari has admitted he’s got his eye on success in the international break, after he “turned the whole game around” against Manchester City.
[Fotboll Skanalen](https://www.fotbollskanalen.se/vm-kval/ayari-vill-ta-med-sig-formen-fran-pl-vande-hela-matchen-mot-city/) cover comments from the Brighton midfielder ahead of Sweden’s World Cup qualifying clash against Slovenia.
He’s now a part of the Sweden squad under Jon Dahl Tomasson after establishing himself at Brighton over the last year.
He returned to them last summer after loan spells a Coventry and Blackburn in the Championship and soon found himself a part of Fabian Hurzeler’s first-team squad after impressing in pre-season.
Yasin Ayari went on to make 39 appearances in the first team in all competitions last season, with 2262 minutes in total. He’s been a fixture again at the start of this season, with three appearances in 186 minutes in total so far.
The latest of those was a 29-minute appearance in the 2-1 win over Manchester City last weekend, in which Ayari was introduced as part of a wave of substitutions by Hurzeler in an effort to change the game.
Those changes worked and led Brighton to a late 2-1 win, giving Ayari confidence heading into this international break.
_“My form is good,”_ he said.
_“I played in the first two matches and jumped into the last one and turned the whole match against City. So, it feels good. I turned the match (vs Manchester City) around and we won. So, it must be approved.”_
His form at Brighton has not gone unnoticed by his national team manager either, who was keen to praise him this week.
_“He has taken big steps,”_ he added.
_“He is a great player. A ball player. A player who has an understanding of the game and can create chances. Extremely good at playing and at using touch and playing forward. He has done great.”_
