England poll shows how some fans really feel about Everton’s Jordan Pickford

Everton may not be playing over the coming weekend, but England will be in action with two games over the coming days.

David Moyes has been left with a number of players to work with back at Finch Farm, but some of his top players have departed.

Wayne Rooney is backing Jack Grealish to make an England return having already started brightly during his time on Merseyside.

For now, Grealish will remain at Finch Farm and prepare for the upcoming games for Everton in the Premier League.

However, one player who has departed for England duty is Jordan Pickford, who is set to retain his regular spot between the sticks.

England play on Saturday evening and then on Tuesday night in two World Cup Qualifiers.

Ahead of the game, a poll has been run, allowing fans to share their thoughts on Pickford’s spot as the England number one.

England fans share clear message on Everton’s Jordan Pickford

Everton have numerous players away on international duty, but Pickford is the one who will be under the biggest spotlight.

Last week, Jamie Carragher aimed an Everton dig at Pickford, given he does not reguarly play in Europe despite being the England number one.

Ahead of the game on Saturday, Sky Sports ran a poll asking fans whether Pickford or Dean Henderson should start between the sticks under Tuchel.

The final results showed that Pickford is still the number one pick as England’s top-choice goalkeeper.

However, it may have been closer than some would imagine.

Pickford received just shy of 60% of the 7,386 votes which were cast on the Sky Sports social media post.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer backed Pickford as England’s number one recently, with the two pundits hailing Pickford’s reliability.

The 31-year-old has maintained a high level of performance for the Three Lions, which will leave the debate laughable to many.

Jordan Pickford receives unnecessary criticism

Perhaps if Pickford did play for one of the so called big six, he may not receive the constant barrage of criticism which he does.

Jamie O’Hara slammed Pickford’s penalty cheatsheet, which has seen the 31-year-old save a number of penalties.

After hearing the criticism, Pickford hit back at O’Hara, having saved another penalty in the victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Everton goalkeeper has also saved England in numerous penalty shootouts; something goalkeepers of previous eras have been unable to do.

It is bizarre to see this topic still debated despite Pickford not producing anything on international duty that should worry England fans.
