Bulls have increased their offer to Josh Giddey

The Chicago Bulls have reportedly increased their offer to Josh Giddey from $80 million to $88 million over four years.

The Chicago Bulls have yet to reach an agreement on a contract extension with restricted free agent Josh Giddey, but there appears to be some progress.

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the Bulls have increased their offer from $80 million over four years to a four-year, $88 million deal.

That figure still falls short of what Giddey is seeking. The 22-year-old guard has reportedly been targeting a deal closer to $30 million annually and is also interested in a five-year contract.

Giddey has until October 1 to decide whether to sign his $11.1 million qualifying offer. If he does, he would secure a one-year no-trade clause, since a trade would result in him losing his Bird rights. Otherwise, the Bulls could extend the qualifying offer or work toward a different agreement.

Giddey is coming off a strong first season in Chicago, averaging 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals across 70 games, starting in 69 of them.
