The 21-year-old started both of Albion's first two Premier League games of the season but was among the substitutes for the visit of City on Sunday.
The midfielder was introduced around the hour mark at the Amex, alongside Brajan Gruda, James Milner, and Georginio Rutter, and in his time on the pitch, Fabian Hurzeler's men came from a goal down to claim all three points.
While Milner's penalty and Gruda's moment of magic secured the win, the Sweden international appears to have taken credit for the victory.
He said, via Fotboll Skanalen, "I'm in good form. I played in the first two matches and came on as a substitute in the last one, and turned the whole match against City around. So it feels good.
"It [my substitute appearance] was good. I turned the match around and we won. So I guess that's acceptable."
Sweden national boss, Jon Dahl Tomasson, has also heaped praise on the former AIK youngster for how far he has come in a short period.
Ayari is now an important part of Hurzeler's team, which is a far cry from his underwhelming loan spells at Championship sides Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers in the 2023/24 campaign.
Ahead of Sweden's World Cup qualifier away at Slovenia on Friday, Tomasson said, "He has made great strides. He is a great player. A ball player.
"A player who understands the game and can create chances. [He is] extremely good at playing and using few touches and playing forward. He has done really well."
