Go away! Onana told'he can leave'Man United this month

Manchester United have reportedly told Andre Onana that he can leave Old Trafford imminently.

The goalkeeper has fallen down the pecking order at the Theatre of Dreams this season, failing to start any Premier League matches.

Onana started the EFL Cup second-round tie with Grimsby Town last month, when the Red Devils suffered a shock defeat at the League Two club.

There have been rumours of the Cameroon international preparing for an exit, with clubs in Saudi Arabia supposedly keen on the shot-stopper.

Since making the high-profile switch from Inter Milan during the summer of 2023, Onana has featured in 102 matches for Man United.

Man United tell Onana to leave?

According to TBR Football, Manchester United have decided their transfer strategy surrounding Onana heading towards the end of the year.

The report claims that Ruben Amorim's side have informed the 29-year-old that he is free to depart Old Trafford in the near future.

It is understood that Onana has attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, with Al Shabab and Al Ittihad keen on the player.

However, with Al Ittihad already having the maximum number of allowed foreign players, they would need to make room in their squad before the September 10.

As well as clubs in the Middle East, Super Lig giants Galatasaray are interested in Onana, with the Turkish summer transfer window closing on September 11.

Man United's goalkeeping situation

After two years of constant errors in net for Man United, Onana looks set to be preparing for a future elsewhere in the very near future.

The 29-year-old is at risk serious of becoming the third-choice goalkeeper at the Red Devils, meaning that he would be left out of matchday squads in the Premier League.

Altay Bayindir has started all of United's top-flight matches so far this term, whilst young shot-stopper Senne Lammens was signed from Royal Antwerp on deadline day.
