Darwin Nunez has seen his transfer valuation plummet following his switch to Al-Hilal. Nunez, 26, completed his permanent move away from Anfield earlier this summer, moving to Saudi Arabia in a deal estimated to be worth £56.6million for the Reds.
Those funds were reinvested in deals for the likes of Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak, as Arne Slot bolstered his front-line heading into the 2025/26 campaign. For Nunez, he left Merseyside a Premier League champion, but he often drew criticism for his perceived lack of conviction in front of goal.
He scored 40 times in 143 appearances for the Reds.
It was his clinical finishing for Benfica that prompted Liverpool to fork out £64m for his abilities in 2022, but new data suggests that he is now worth merely half of that transfer fee.
According to Transfermarkt, following the Uruguayan's transfer to the Middle East, Nunez is now estimated to be worth just €45m (£39m).
That fee is also backed up by the CIES Observatory, who more recently have been viewed as the go-to place for real-life market valuations.
They say the ex-Liverpool man has a transfer value of just €33-35m (£28-30m), which is much less than Liverpool received for the striker.
Nunez was once referred to as 'Captain Chaos' by ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher - given that at times he struggled to hold down a regular starting role throughout his three seasons at Anfield.
He fell out of favour towards the end of Klopp's reign, and while a summer 2025 exit appeared increasingly likely, Slot was never shy to publicly outline Nunez's shortcomings.
"Players miss chances - that I can accept," Slot said back in February.
"What was a bit harder for me to accept was his behaviour after that chance, and by behaviour I mean it got too much in his head, where he wasn't the usual Darwin that works his butt off and he makes sure he helps the team."
