Jarrod Bowen says Erling Haaland will do something this season that he failed to do last year

Jarrod Bowen believes Manchester City’s Erling Haaland will do something this season that he could not achieve during the 2024/25 campaign.

The previous term was a tough one for the Norwegian superstar as the striker had to deal with injuries, poor form, and his teammates were not creating enough chances for the 25-year-old to put away.

Haaland has started this season impressively, scoring three goals in his first three Premier League matches, with Peter Crouch one of many who thinks the Man City superstar is back to his best.

Speaking about the 2025/26 season as a whole, West Ham and England forward Jarrod Bowen has admitted that he thinks Haaland will do something this season that he didn’t during the previous campaign.

Jarrod Bowen backs Erling Haaland to win the Premier League’s Golden Boot

Haaland has been a goal machine ever since he completed his move from Borussia Dortmund to Man City during the summer of 2022, with the striker producing 127 goals and 21 assists across 149 matches for the Manchester club.

The 25-year-old finished as the Premier League’s top goalscorer during his first two seasons at City; however, the Norwegian international lost that crown to Mohamed Salah last time around.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Bowen has predicted Haaland to regain his crown after already netting three times over the first weeks of the campaign.

Shaka Hislop believes Salah will win the Golden Boot over Haaland, while Troy Deeney can see Alexander Isak beating the Man City superstar to the award this term.

Both are in with a great chance to become the Premier League’s top goalscorer, but there is an obvious reason why that will not happen.

Why Erling Haaland will win the Premier League’s Golden Boot

No matter how bad Man City are, Haaland will score goals, which the 25-year-old proved last season as he netted 22 times in the Premier League, despite the obvious struggles of Pep Guardiola’s squad.

That will form the base of most arguments for Haaland, but the main reason why the Norwegian will win the Golden Boot is a result of the Liverpool stars sharing goals among them, which will make it hard for one of them to accumulate enough to surpass the Man City star.

There may be an outlier, such as Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres, but it is unlikely that the Swedish star will achieve this feat during his first campaign in the Premier League.

As a result, Haaland should be the clear favourite to finish the season with the most goals, and if he can surpass the 30 mark, Man City may have a good chance of lifting the title at the end of the campaign.
