JONNY Day’s brace helped the [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/) ease past Sheffield Wednesday U21s for a 3-0 win in the Professional Development League.

It was the Cherries third win in four league games so far this season which sees them now sit second in the table, behind Swansea City.

Day’s double helped him reach four for the season, while Koby Mottoh scored in the dying seconds of the game to take his tally to two for the season.

Wednesday started strongly, coming close multiple times however weren’t able to break the deadlock.

Bournemouth grabbed the lead just before half time when Charlie Osborne intercepted a Wednesday pass and his cross found the run of his striker Day.

Cherries kept the pressure on in the second half, in search of their second, however couldn’t get past Jack Phillips in the Wednesday goal.

In stoppage time, Day got his second goal as he pounced on a rebound after Mottoh hit the crossbar.

Mottoh got one of his own however, beating his man and striking into the roof of the net with the last kick of the game.
