Jordan Love calls on Packers to make big change for season opener

Packers quarterback Jordan Love can read the room almost as adeptly as he can read defenses.

While Love is in a lot of ways the face of the Packers’ franchise, the third-year starting quarterback believes the moment on Sunday belongs to Parsons.

After Green Bay pulled off the colossal blockbuster trade to acquire edge rusher Micah Parsons, Love suggests that on Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field the Packers should introduce the defense individually to whip the crowd into a frenzy and usher in the All-Pro in style.

“They gotta do defense. They gotta do defense, Micah last, you know what I mean?” Love told reporters Wednesday. “Crowd’s gonna go crazy. I already see it, I already see it. Defense go out there first. Get a three-and-out. Micah get a sack on third down. I already see it.”

Parsons’ arrival has already drawn comparisons to the Packers’ 1990s signing of Reggie White that heralded a new era of Super Bowl contention, and Love sounds ready to share the spotlight with his new teammate and set the tone for what promises to be a physical divisional showdown against the bitter rival Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.
