Micah Parsons Has Honest Admission About The Lions

The Green Bay Packers have generated considerable buzz this offseason after landing star edge rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys.

The acquisition represents the franchise’s most significant free agent addition in recent memory.

All eyes will be on Lambeau Field when the Packers host their NFC North rivals in what promises to be a heated division matchup.

The defending champion Detroit Lions arrive in Green Bay carrying momentum from their successful 2024 campaign.

Parsons wasted little time stoking the flames during Thursday’s media session, making it clear he harbors no love for his new division opponent.

“Honestly, I felt like Dallas and Detroit had a rivalry. I’ve already got that rivalry built up. I’m excited to play them. I never liked Detroit. I never liked them, even when I was in Dallas. It was always just a heavyweight fight, every time they came in, and they kind of got our guys when I was injured last year, or the whole team was injured. I just think it’s a funny way how things work. I’m excited to play them,” Parsons said.

The three-time Pro Bowl defender brings a perfect record against Detroit into Sunday’s contest. Parsons has faced the Lions twice since entering the NFL in 2021.

He dominated their first meeting in 2022 with six tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble during a convincing 24-6 victory.

The following season brought another strong performance with six tackles in a narrow 20-19 win.

Parsons sat out the 2024 matchup due to a high ankle sprain. His absence proved costly as Dallas suffered a lopsided 47-9 defeat. That loss clearly left an impression on the defensive star.

His status for Sunday remains questionable after dealing with a back injury throughout the week.

Parsons has seen limited practice time, though the team expects to have a clearer assessment of his availability closer to kickoff.

The Lions offense will certainly hope he remains sidelined.
