Micah Parsons injury update: Packers star’s status for Lions game revealed

The Green Bay Packers have released their injury report for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, which includes new star defender Micah Parsons.

The former Penn State star is listed as questionable for the season opener as he continues to deal with a back issue.

Parsons has been limited in practice all week, putting his availability for Sunday’s game in question.

Earlier this week Parsons was asked if would be able to play against the Lions and said that the decision was “completely up to the coaches.”

“It’s a process of getting ready for football,” Micah Parsons said. “Obviously, going through the tightness, the soreness, but I just got plenty of faith that this great training staff and the coaches are slowly getting me the plays and getting me things that I need if we decide to give me the green light out there.”

In addition to Parsons, six other Packers players are also listed as questionable in cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee), receivers Jayden Reed (foot), Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (hamstring), safety Zayne Anderson (knee) and defensive lineman Barryn Sorrell (knee).

Quarterback Jordan Love and offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins no longer have an injury designation and will play when the Packers host the Lions Sunday afternoon.

As for the Lions, linebacker Trevor Nowaske (elbow), offensive lineman Jamarco Jones (ankle) and running back Sione Vaki (hamstring) have all been ruled out for Sunday’s game.

Lions receiver Isaac TeSlaa (illness) and guard Kayode Awosika (shoulder) do not have an injury designation and will play against the Packers.
