Getting you ready for Saints vs. Cardinals in 2025 season opener

We're officially less than 48 hours from the first Saints regular season game of 2025, and the first of the Kellen Moore era. We've got everything you need to get ready.

Season preview epics: Our annual season preview series at The Times-Picayune/NOLA.com is a chance for our writers to really strut their stuff, and they didn't disappoint this year.

• Luke Johnson has a marvelous new way to look at Cam Jordan's legendary Saints career (with a really cool photo illustration from our Tanya Ramirez)

• Matthew Paras writes how even though Kellen Moore feels like a young Saints coach from the past, he'll be better served ignoring that comparison

• Rod Walker takes us down the winding path of starting quarterback Spencer Rattler

• Jeff Duncan tells you what to expect from the Saints in 2025.

Oh, those injuries: Anyone think the Saints might catch a few more breaks in the injury department after some terrible luck last year? Well, keep waiting. The Saints announced Friday they'll be without edge rusher Chase Young, who had a big preseason after signing a big contract extension but injured his calf in practice Wednesday. Offensive lineman Trevor Penning also isn't ready to return with turf toe, although the Saints will get back cornerback Alontae Taylor from his groin injury.

Making our picks: OK, time to focus in on the Arizona game. Here are Rod's four keys to the game and our predictions. If you want a deeper dive, check out Friday's episode of the Saints Insider podcast (and subscribe to the YouTube channel for new shows every week, including a postgame show after every game.)

See you Sunday at the Superdome or on CBS.

Cheers,

Zach Ewing
