The Denver Broncos are hoping to start the season off strong, but they have big challenge in facing the Tennessee Titans in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season.
Nobody quite knows how well rookie Cam Ward will play, but his ability to throw the ball downfield is something the Broncos' defense will need to be very aware of.
That said, the Broncos' pass rush has already taken a (obscenity). as the team has unfortunately lost Dre Greenlaw for the game.
Greenlaw is dealing with a quad injury and has already been ruled out for the showdown with the Titans. The quad injury occurred back in April, but has been lingering.
Instead of risking Greenlaw's health for future games, the Broncos have chosen to rule him out. The stout linebacker has been dealing with injuries since he tore his Achilles tendon at the end of the 2023 season.
Greenlaw came to the Broncos in the offseason after spending the last six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. Through those six seasons, he has compiled 3.5 sacks and three interceptions.
Losing Greenlaw is a big hit for the Broncos, but the good news is the team will get both Marvin Mims and Nik Bonitto healthy and ready to go. Both standouts are off the injury report and ready to go.
Bonitto recently signed a massive extension with the Broncos, securing a four-year, $120 million extension. He has now made history with the organization as being the highest-paid non-quarterback in franchise history.
Bonitto and Greenlaw missing the game would have made a significant dent in the Broncos' defense plan, but the good news is Bonitto is ready to play. Though the Titans are predicted not to be the most competitive team in the AFC, anything can happen.
For Greenlaw, he will need some more healing time before he takes the field in 2025.
