The NFL season began last night with an exciting game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles picked up the win with a score of 24-20. Philadelphia is expected to be one of the top teams in the NFC this season, and they might face off against the Buffalo Bills in the Super Bowl.
Buffalo will begin their season with a Sunday night football game against the Baltimore Ravens. This matchup has the potential to be a preview of the AFC Championship Game.
For the Bills to play for the AFC title, they will need an excellent record to ensure they get home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Andy Johnson from Fansided believes that the Bills have a strong chance of achieving the best record in the AFC this season. On Friday, he predicted the outcome of every Bills game and had them finishing with a record of 13 wins and four losses.
Buffalo Will Need to Beat Kansas City And Baltimore
To achieve the best conference record, the Bills must win their games against both the Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams are on the same level as Buffalo. If the Bills lose both games, they may end up as the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the AFC.
The good news is that Johnson has the Bills beating the Ravens this weekend. “The Bills start the season with a huge game against the Ravens, who they defeated 27-25 in the AFC divisional round last winter,”Johnson wrote. Lamar Jackson, the 2023 MVP, will come to town with a chip on his shoulder, but it will not be enough. Josh Allen will prove why he won the MVP over Jackson in 2024, and the Bills will squeak out with a huge victory in Week 1.”
Johnson didn’t stop with the Bills beating the Ravens; he also predicted them beating the Chiefs at home in Week 9.
“The Bills have owned the Chiefs in the regular season for the past few years. They’ll continue to do so, with Josh Allen and the Bills getting another huge win at home,” Johnson wrote. “With a 7-1 record and wins over Baltimore and Kansas City, the Bills will be in the lead position for the No. 1 seed.”
If the Bills can manage to have both Kansas City and Baltimore come to Highmark Stadium at the end of January, it could increase their chances of reaching the Super Bowl.
Buffalo has successfully defeated the Ravens at home during the playoffs. However, in three out of their four postseason matchups against the Chiefs, three of those games have taken place in Kansas City.
The Bills Will Have Some Losses
The wins are great, but losses are going to come. Johnson has the Bills losing to the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Losing to Miami and New England is possible since they’re in the same division, and seeing them twice makes it tough to beat them both times.
Only four losses should be enough to keep the Bills as the No. 1 seed, as they would retain the tiebreaker with Baltimore and KansasCity.
