Taylor Swift decided against making the trip to Sao Paulo to support fiance Travis Kelce in what could be his 'last dance' in the NFL.
There had been uncertainty over whether Swift would make the long journey to Brazil for what could be the first game of Kelce's final season but in the hours before kickoff, speculation ramped up that she would be there.
Local reports in Brazil even incorrectly claimed that Swift touched down in Sao Paulo around three hours before the start of the game.
It left thousands of fans disappointed inside the stadium, with many hoping the singer would join them in cheering Kelce and the Chiefs on.
But, according to TMZ, none of the Chiefs wags made the trip down to Brazil due to the distance and tight turnaround in getting back to the United States after the game.
Friday night's showdown is a huge moment in the career of the three-time Super Bowl winner Kelce.

Kelce showed up in a bizarre looking suit created by popular designer KidSuper
Kelce looked like a man who knew it was all over back in February, after the Chiefs were humiliated by the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
But he wallked back from the brink of calling it a day, ultimately deciding that he didn't want his career to end on such a low note.
He arrived for the game in Brazil - dressed to the nines in a very sharp suit - entering the final year of his contract. As he made his way out onto the field to warm up, he received huge cheers from thousands of fans who had made their way into the stadium early for the game.
If Kelce was feeling any pressure before kickoff, he didn't show it. He took a few seconds out from his pregame rituals to greet Odell Beckham Jr and Brazilian soccer star Neymar, who were pitchside before the game.
The tight end is coy on if this really will be his final season, joking earlier this week that he feels young and ready for the new campaign.
The reality is that after a downturn in form last year, Kelce needs to recapture his best performance levels again if he is to land a new deal and keep on playing.
