Former Green Bay Packers quarterback accused of choking bartender

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. ([WEAU](https://www.weau.com/2025/09/05/former-green-bay-packer-cited-eau-claire-following-incident-bar/)/Gray News) - A former Green Bay Packers quarterback was cited in Wisconsin for reportedly choking an employee at an area bar.

According to the Eau Claire Police Department, officers were called to Brother’s Bar on Water Street on Aug. 29 just after 11 p.m. for a report of a man who refused to leave the establishment after he choked the bartender.

The man was later identified as 61-year-old Donald Majkowski.

Police said staff told officers that Majkowski and another man were pushing each other when a bartender tried to separate them. That bartender called over a second bartender to help pull the two men apart, and that’s when Majkowski allegedly grabbed the second bartender’s throat.

Bar staff then escorted Majkowski outside, where police met with him.

The Eau Claire police report described Majkowski as being “extremely intoxicated” at the time of the incident.

Officers said Majkowski told them that he was “jumped” because “boyfriends of the girls at the bar were jealous of him because he was a prior NFL player.”

Online court records show Majkowski was cited for disorderly conduct.

Majkowski was a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers from 1987 to 1992.
