Rich Eisen made mistakes while calling Chargers-Chiefs game

Rich Eisen and Kurt Warner formed the announcing team for the Friday night game in Brazil between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs on YouTube TV, and Eisen wasn’t at his best.

To start, the audio mixing for the game was completely off. The volume for the TV announcers was not loud enough. Viewers could hear the public address announcer inside Corinthians Arena in Sao Paolo, Brazil, as well as Eisen.

Then Eisen had trouble identifying players during the game. He called Chiefs receiver Hollywood Brown “JuJu,” thinking the ball had been thrown to JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is a different Chiefs receiver. He also called Tyler Conklin “Will Dissly” multiple times.

Dissly, who wears No. 89, and Conklin, who wears No. 83, are the two tight ends for the Chargers. They should be easy to distinguish, but Eisen was unable to do so.

Fans took note early in the game of the errors Eisen was making.

This marked the first NFL game YouTube TV televise. They were working in partnership with NBC to air the game, and the announcing component was not the smoothest due to Eisen’s mistakes.
