Final | Chiefs lose 27-21 against Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs dropped their season opener in São Paulo, Brazil, against the Los Angeles Chargers 27-21, ending their record streak of winning one-possession games.

UPDATE, 10 p.m. | Butker hits a 27-yard field goal to make it a one-possession game late in the fourth quarter.

UPDATE, 9:48 p.m. | Quentin Johnston scores another touchdown to stretch the Chargers' lead to nine with just over five minutes left in the game.

UPDATE, 9:35 p.m. | Kelce turns on the jets and scores a 37-yard touchdown to cut the Chiefs' deficit against the Chargers to two in the fourth quarter.

UPDATE, 9:25 p.m. | The Chiefs lose track of Keenan Allen in the red zone and he makes an 11-yard touchdown grab, giving the Chargers an eight-point lead late in the third quarter.

UPDATE, 9:10 p.m. | Mahomes takes it himself for an 11-yard touchdown to bring the Chiefs within one in the third quarter.

Butker missed the extra point to tie the game, so the Chiefs still trail 13-12.

UPDATE, 8:32 p.m. | The first half ends in a frenzy as Harrison Butker nails a 59-yard field goal in the final seconds to bring the Chiefs within seven at halftime.

UPDATE, 8:25 p.m. | The Chargers hit another field goal to go back up 10 late in the second quarter.
