Kansas City Chiefs News: Former Pro Bowl WR Wants to Join Team After Week 1 Loss

The Kansas City Chiefs were unable to start the 2025 season with a win as they lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 27-21. The offense for the Chiefs looked a bit weaker after seeing wide receiver Xavier Worthy leave the game due to a shoulder injury on the first drive and not return to the game.

However, the Kansas City Chiefs have drawn the interest of a former Pro Bowl wide receiver on social media. Let’s take a closer look as to who it is and what it could mean going forward for the team.

Allen Robinson II Wants to Join the Kansas City Chiefs?

The Kansas City Chiefs could potentially have a wide receiver problem after just one week in the 2025 season. The team already had Rashee Rice suspended for the first six games of the year due to an off-the-field incident, but also could have lost second-year wideout Xavier Worthy with his shoulder injury.

During the Week 1 game, free agent wide receiver and former Pro Bowler Allen Robinson II posted about potentially joining the Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver core.

“No (cap), chiefs I’m a free agent, I swear I could help yall”

Allen Robinson II has bounced around from team to team the last four years and played 12 games for the Detroit Lions last season. He recorded three catches on seven targets for 30 yards and did not find the end zone. It has been a long time since he was a Pro Bowler in 2015, but the Kansas City Chiefs could work him out to bolster their depth at the position.

A lot of this could change depending on the status of Worthy. The Kansas City Chiefs do not play until next Sunday in a Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles. It will be interesting to see if the team looks at Robinson as a potential addition or if it is just a free agent trying to get noticed.
