Ederson has revealed that he made a bold prediction before Manchester City’s 2022/23 Champions League final win that came true.
The Citizens’ finest hour came on Saturday 10 June 2023, in Istanbul, as they ran out 1-0 winners over Inter Milan to lift the Champions League trophy.
Ederson played a huge role in Manchester City’s Champions League run, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in all but two games.
Ederson’s time at Man City has now come to an end after his move to Fenerbahce, and the Brazilian has been reminiscing about his time at the Etihad.

Ederson says he imagined 1-0 win and last-minute punched clearance against Inter Milan
After finalising his move to Fenerbahce, Ederson flew back to Manchester to say goodbye properly to team-mates, staff and friends.
He spoke to the City media team about his time at the club, which he described as “amazing” as all his “dreams came true”.

And when it came to the Champions League final win, Ederson revealed he had predicted the scoreline and what would happen in the final moments of the game.
“I spoke to my psychologist, she said to imagine the final and when the game has finished – this was five days before the match,” said Ederson.
“I said, we’re winning 1-0 and in the last moment they cross, I punch, the game finishes.
“I imagined that and the game was quite the same. There was a cross, header and I make the save. After I said she put that in me and it was realised. What a day, what a season…”
Whether Ederson could face Manchester City in European competition this season
Man City have several reunions on the cards this season, with Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, Ilkay Gundogan, Leroy Sane and Yan Couto all set to face their former club.
Claudio Echeverri is also expected to be in Bayer Leverkusen’s matchday squad against Man City if fit, as loanees are not banned from playing against their parent club in Europe.
However, there will be no such reunion involving Ederson, as Fenerbahce are in the Europa League this season.
In addition, teams from the Champions League no longer drop into the Europa League, so there’s no chance of the two teams coming together in competitive action until next year.
