Fulham already have huge injury doubt ahead of Leeds United game

Leeds United return from the international break with a game against Fulham in the Premier League. The Whites can pick up a lot of positives from their first three league games.

Four points from nine games is not a bad start for a newly promoted side considering the schedule. Leeds have played Everton, Arsenal and Newcastle. The biggest positive to take from these games is that the club’s home form will play a huge part this season. The Whites beat the Toffees and held the Magpies to a draw at Elland Road without conceding a goal.

Daniel Farke no doubt learnt a big lesson from the 5-0 defeat to Arsenal. It was a steep learning curve for Leeds, who were battered despite having control of the game after the first half hour.

Next weekend’s opponent Fulham will carry an injury doubt into the game, as Issa Diop continues to be on the sidelines. The defender was expected to return to Marco Silva’s squad for their last game, but he missed out.

Silva believes that Diop could be available ahead of the Leeds game: “Some knocks, nothing really serious apart from Timothy (Castagne) a little bit. Issa (Diop), too. But I really believe they are going to be available.”

Leeds injury update

Leeds are expecting two of their best players to return to the pitch soon. Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka were sidelined before the international break, with Daniel Farke saying that both could return soon.

Joe Rodon pulled out of international duty, with many expecting a serious injury, but Wales boss Craig Bellamy revealed it was concussion protocol. He should be fine to face Fulham next weekend. Gabriel Gudmundsson is also expected to overcome the knock he picked up in the Newcastle game. Daniel Farke could have a clean bill of health before the Whites face Marco Silva’s side next Saturday.

Fulham are winless in their first three games of the season, and will present a tough task for Leeds, who will be away from home.
