Jarrad Branthwaite injury update emerges from Everton ahead of PL return - insider

Everton now have a week until their next game in the Premier League amid the first international break of the season.

David Moyes will have his fingers crossed that there are no further injury issues picked up whilst away on international duty.

It has not exactly been the ideal start to Everton’s new campaign as far as injuries go.

Nathan Patterson has just returned from his injury, with Moyes claiming the right-back was suffering from hernia-like symptoms over the summer.

And then there is, of course, Jarrad Branthwaite, who is yet to even play for the Toffees in the 2025/26 campaign.

Branthwaite is suffering from a fresh hamstring injury, having already been forced to miss the pre-season tour of the United States.

Amid this international break, there has now been an update on the centre-back’s injury status.

Jarrad Branthwaite injury latest out of Everton

After hearing the initial injury news, Everton fans wanted another centre-back signed in the market to replace Branthwaite during his absence.

That did not develop at Everton, with Michael Keane playing in the 23-year-old’s unavailability.

According to one club insider, there is finally some positive injury news coming out of Finch Farm regarding Branthwaite.

The defender has not stepped up his workload in Everton training, with some good progress being made ahead of a potential return.

It is not yet known whether he will be able to return before the end of the month, but Moyes will only want to bring him back when he is fully ready.

Branthwaite was suffering an injury earlier in the summer that forced him to miss the trip to the United States.

It is proving a big issue with the defender, who is regularly finding himself sidelined through various injury issues.

Vitaliy Mykolenko suffers fresh injury blow in Ukraine

It is not the news which Everton fans would want to hear in the early stages of the international break, but Vitaliy Mykolenko has also returned to Merseyside.

Reports claim Mykolenko has returned to Finch Farm to undergo an MRI scan for an unspecified injury.

There may be some positive to be taken from the footage showing Mykolenko walking without any aid, but there will still be a real concern after he suffered an issue in the friendly against AS Roma.

With Adam Aznou yet to make his first league appearance, Everton may have been left incredibly light at left-back ahead of the return.
