It’s a testament to how strong a side Eddie Howe has assembled at Newcastle United that we boast so many international stars in our senior squad.
For England alone, we have Dan Burn, Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon representing us with the Three Lions, with a wealth of talent also playing for their respective countries across Europe, South America and Africa.
And there were some big goals and contributions from our Mags in the latest round of international fixtures: here’s the roundup of who played on Friday night.
Anthony Elanga opened the scoring for Sweden in their 2-2 draw against Slovenia on Friday night.
With former Magpie Alexander Isak left on the bench in the World Cup qualifier, Elanga was trusted up top alongside Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres and produced a lively display.
His opener saw him take the ball from the halfway line right to the Slovenia box, and after trading passes with Ayari, Elanga rounded Jan Oblak and much of the opposition defence to fire home and make it 1-0. Watch the goal below:

Sandro Tonali meanwhile played over an hour as Italy romped to a 5-0 win over Estonia in their World Cup qualifier.
It was another complete performance from our midfield maestro, hopefully much to the delight of new Italy boss Gennaro Gattuso, as Tonali produced not only the most chances on the night (5), but also completed the most dribbles, had a 100% tackle success rate and won five of his six ground duels.
Tonali and Elanga are two players whose place in the starting XI isn’t really in doubt ahead of the game against Wolves.
But in attack, a mixed set of results and performances have given Howe a minor selection concern to ponder ahead of some crunch fixtures for us.
Yoane Wissa was on the score sheet for DR Congo as they ran riot against South Sudan, and his prior Premier League experience should more than merit a place as our starting striker moving forward.

But Nick Woltemade, who was left isolated with a lack of opportunities in Germany’s shock but deserved loss to Slovakia, and Will Osula, who was an unused substitute for Denmark’s 0-0 draw for Scotland, the next game will be the last chance they get to impress the gaffer ahead of the game against Wolves.
Julian Nagelsmann has already hinted that he could switch things up in his Germany side, so who knows if Woltemade will earn his fourth senior cap when Die Mannschaft play Northern Ireland on Sunday night.
Osula meanwhile will have to compete with Manchester United’s (now Napoli loanee) Rasmus Hojlund, as well as Friday’s starting duo of Mika Biereth and Kasper Dolberg if he wants to stand any chance of earning competitive minutes and making a statement once again.
